From last November, Banco Sabadell customers have been able to use the mobile payment service Google Pay, which enables purchases using mobile devices at any commercial establishment in which customers can pay using a contactless debit or credit card and on e-commerce sites displaying the Google Pay button.
“Google Pay gives our customers more options to make payments more comfortably and makes managing money easier through a single app, Sabadell Mobile, which they have been using to manage their cards”, states Anna Puigoriol, Cards Manager at Banco Sabadell.
This service is available for mobile devices with Android operating system version 5.0 or above and NFC technology and can be used to pay from mobile phones, smart watches and tablets compatible with Google Wallet. To enjoy this service, customers only need to register Banco Sabadell’s cards, either debit or credit cards, in Google Wallet. They will enter their card details in Google Wallet manually or by using a photo and they will then verify their identity in the Bank’s app to start making payments instantly.
With this new feature, Banco Sabadell expands its mobile payment offer which already included SabadellWallet, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay. With more than five million cards, Banco Sabadell wants to offer its customers all the payment options available, which now include Google Pay. And through the Bank’s own app, Sabadell Mobile, customers can request new cards, have them available immediately, turn them on or off, restrict usage, manage card limits, change payment methods, split purchases, send money to another person or an ATM, report unknown transactions, among others.
