arm plans to begin a round of talks with investors interested in the Spanish
market during the next Barcelona Meeting Point
Solvia,
Banco Sabadell’s real estate arm, is to set up an Asset Management division
that, from now on, will be in charge of designing and managing its real estate
investment vehicles. This new business division’s remit will be to create value
in its assets and maximize participants’ return on investment through
comprehensive advice and management.
At the
same time, Banco Sabadell’s real estate arm is to turn its Real Estate
Investment Fund into the Spanish equivalent of what international markets refer to as REITs (Real Estate
Investment Trusts) and which in Spain
is known as a SOCIMI (Real Estate Investment Listed Company), to let in new
institutional investors. The SOCIMI will start with a portfolio of residential,
logistics and tertiary assets, and an approximate volume of €700 Mn.
SOCIMIs are listed
companies that mainly engage in the acquisition, development and renovation of
urban nature assets for lease, either directly or through shareholdings of
other SOCIMIs.
Solvia’s
management plans to initiate contacts with institutional investors potentially
interested in investing in the Spanish market at this year’s Barcelona Meeting
Point, which will be open for the professional market, from 29th to
31st October.
